Welcome to Have a Good Cookie .com
This site is being developed, but for now why not make plans to bake cookies.

Try saying "Have a Good Cookie" to end conversations, instead of
"Have a Good Day", then they can enjoy their day with a cookie.

Original Toll House cookies from the back of the Nestlé bag

U.S.A. Metric - the French names of ingredients are also included
2 cups (12 ounces) Nestlé chocolate chips Roughly 300 grams. No Nestlé chips in the grocery stores (maybe at Bon Marché) but I prefer the equally available Cote d'Or Noir Pur Chocolat - comes in packs of 3 100 gram bars that you will have to chop yourself.
2 1/4 cups flour 335 grams. "farine de blé blanche" Note: the measuring cups in France give you different lines for flour, rice, etc, choose the right one!
1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon is the standard small spoon - as opposed to a soup spoon "bicarbonate de soda"
1 tsp. salt "sel"
1 cup butter 225 grams. "beurre" comes in 250g packages and usually unsalted, so adjust accordingly
3/4 cup granulated sugar 180 grams "sucre"
3/4 cup brown sugar 180 grams (available at Naturalia, a health food store common in Paris)
1 tsp. vanilla extract "vanille" Vanilla-infused sugar is popular here if you want to use that

2 large eggs

"oeufs"

Preheat oven to 375° F = 190° Celsius (remember this since almost all food seems to be cooked at 375°)

Combine the dry ingredients through the salt. Cream the butter and sugar and vanilla, add eggs one at a time...beating well after each addition (did that come back to you before reading it?)

Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.

Bake for 9 - 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool two minutes, move to wire racks to completely cool.
